Backblaze is a cloud backup company that conducts an annual survey to learn backup habits and preferences. According to the 2022 report, there are still 20% of computer owners never back up their systems. This leaves them at risk of losing ALL their data in the event of a crash or loss. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, 93% of companies that experience a disaster wind up going out of business within five years – even if they can recover in the short term. This is what we want to prevent.
If you have a business, you need to have a backup. A BCDR system is necessary to protect and restore critical data and systems in the event of a disaster or unexpected event. BCDR provides a comprehensive solution to protect and restore critical data and systems in a disaster. Secure Scheduled Backups
We’ll work with you to develop a process for creating and storing copies of data in a secure location at regular intervals. This is typically done to protect against data loss due to hardware failure, human error, or other unexpected events. The backups will be set on a schedule that works best for your business to ensure that the most recent data is always available for recovery.
Various security measures are taken to ensure the backups are secure, such as encryption, which encrypts the data before it is stored, and secure transfer protocols like SFTP, FTPS, and HTTPS, which protect the data while it is being transferred. Authentication mechanisms like tokens and certificates ensure that only authorized personnel can access the backups.
The backup data is also stored in a different location than the original data, such as a remote server, to protect against data loss in a disaster. Additionally, regular testing and validation of the backups are done to ensure they can be restored in case of an actual disaster.
Cloud Replication and Disaster Recovery
Cloud replication refers to creating and maintaining copies of data across multiple cloud environments. This process can be done in real-time, on a schedule, between cloud providers, or within the same provider.
Disaster recovery (DR) is a set of procedures and technologies used to protect and restore critical data and systems in the event of a disaster, such as a natural disaster, power outage, or cyber-attack.
Cloud replication can be used as part of a DR strategy to quickly restore data and systems in the event of a disaster by providing access to a copy of the data in a different location. Cloud replication also allows for offsite backups, a key component of disaster recovery.
Business Continuity (BC)
We’ll work with you to develop a process to maintain the smooth and uninterrupted operation of your business in the event of a disaster, disruption, or other unexpected events. We will create a plan to ensure that critical business functions can continue even if an incident occurs. This plan includes identifying critical systems and processes, assessing risks, and developing procedures to mitigate those risks.
A business continuity plan aims to minimize the impact of a disruption on your business and your customers and to ensure that your business can quickly resume normal operations. BC plans typically include measures such as backup power, data replication, disaster recovery, and communication and incident response procedures. It also includes a testing and maintenance phase to ensure the continuity plan is ready and working in case of an actual disaster.
