Continuing the tips and tricks series, let’s talk about how to safely offer WIFI for your business guests. It is not always necessary to offer WIFI. But if your customers or clients will be waiting on your property for more than a few minutes, it is something to consider. You don’t want it to be an afterthought, though, as it could pose a security risk.

First, you want to make sure your guest WIFI is on an isolated network. Having guests on the same network you and your employees are using can lead to hacks and attacks. Second, don’t make the password too easy, and change it every 3-4 months. The password is your first line of cyber defense.

Again, it is not necessary to offer WIFI access to guests visiting your business. But, if they will be around for more than a few minutes, it can be a nice courtesy. You just want to make sure you do not compromise your security in the process. If you have any questions on how to set up a separate guest WIFI, schedule a call with us.
