October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month

October 6, 2022

If you have a business, you’ve heard about cybersecurity. Crime, extortion, distortion of business, you name it, there are criminals that can do it.

Last October (2021), the Biden Administration and the National Security Council facilitated a meeting between 30 countries worldwide to set some guidelines to fight cybercrime. In 2020, the disclosed amount businesses paid for ransomware reached $400 million.

Just the first six months of 2021 surpassed that at $590 million. I have not seen the total for the year yet. This is only reported crimes like big organizations, so you can probably assume that the actual amount was much more.

Unfortunately, cybercrime is here to stay. If you have a business, someone will try to take advantage of that. As a business owner, your goal is to do whatever you can to protect your business. If you have any questions, we are here to help you.
