Log4j is a vulnerability found in the Java framework. It’s very common with Java applications, mainly cloud servers, networking gear and firewalls that use Java to run their system.
The main concern is Windows desktop, although there is a small chance you’ll find it on Windows servers, depending on the application they use. This variable is considered high risk because it allows malicious codes and players in the market to access the device and take control over it.
How can you protect yourself against Log4j? Most of these companies that run this infrastructure have issued a patch to close the vulnerability. Ask your IT provider if you are exposed to that and what they can do to protect you against it.
If you have enterprise level equipment, make sure that it is patched with the most recent firmware. You can also reach out to the vendor to see if they recommend a patch for your equipment.
