What is the Cost of Cyber Security?

April 8, 2021

Over the past three years we’ve had a yearly increase of over 42% for our cybersecurity insurance, alone. One current reason we hear for this is that so many are working from home, now, and using less secure measures. There have been many breaches, data leaks, and ransomware occurrences that have contributed to this rise in cost.

Everyone needs cybersecurity protection and insurance. Maybe not everyone can afford it. But if you are in a business that is vital like financial, legal, or manufacturing that can be a prime target for cybercrime, you really need to consider having cybersecurity insurance along with having security measures to protect your business. You never know what’s going to come and how it’s going to affect your business.

When a breach happens, you will need to pay for the company that will investigate the breach. They will take all of your computers and laptops and servers for a minimum of two weeks. The recovery cost mainly comes from this downtime - anywhere from two weeks to a month or more. Can you afford to be down for an extended time?

Reach out if we can help you think through the cybersecurity measures to implement that could save your business one day.
